DMTF and PCI-SIG Form Alliance
Posted on Thu, 03/28/2019 - 05:27
DMTF and the Peripheral Component Interconnect Special Interest Group (PCI-SIG®) have formed an alliance to help ensure the two organizations’ standards are coordinated and address management requirements, including security object definitions, schema definition, and JSON/OData interoperability, as well as management of devices using MCTP over PCIe. The PCI-SIG is an electronics industry consortium responsible for specifying the Peripheral Component Interconnect, PCI-X, and PCI Express computer buses.
This alliance will advance collaboration between the two groups as PCI-SIG provides expertise on its requirements to assist DMTF’s Platform Management Components Intercommunication (PMCI) Work Group, including with the creation of security objects, as well as the creation and maintenance of MCTP bindings for PCI standards. Additionally, the collaboration will provide expertise on PCI standards to assist with the extension of the Redfish® standard to cover PCI fabric management.
