DMTF Assigns New VP of Education
DMTF recently appointed Jeff Wheeler from Huawei as DMTF’s first VP of Education. The role was created in response to feedback from members confirming education as a major organizational goal. In particular, the new role will ensure a wider effort in creating and presenting instructional engineering-level materials and delivering a deeper understanding of CIM-related benefits to members.
DMTF Continues to Break New Ground in 2011
2011 has been another great year for DMTF. We have produced many new specifications, over a dozen new profiles and four major new releases of CIM. Our work in the Cloud Computing space is really kicking into to gear with several Work-In-Progress (WIP) releases of our new Cloud Infrastructure Management Interface (CIMI) specification, along with the first whitepaper also released as a WIP from the Software License Management Incubator. In addition, the Cloud Auditing Data Federation Working Group (CADFWG) has been hard at work and we should see some of their new specifications announced in early 2012.

The Cloud Infrastructure Management Interface (CIMI) work-in-progress specifications are now available for public review and comment at www.dmtf.org/cloud. All DMTF members are encouraged to review the specifications and provide feedback through the DMTF Feedback Portal at http://www.dmtf.org/standards/feedback.
